MTBM
The Micro Tunnelling Boring Machine (MTBM) is a machine designed to excavate small-diameter underground tunnels (0.6–3 m). It drills through soft soils and moderately hard rock, minimizing environmental impacts and disturbances to surrounding areas.
Main Uses in Peru:
Underground infrastructure: Installation of sewer systems, water pipes, electrical cables, and stormwater drainage.
Utility service transportation: Enables services such as natural gas and water distribution to cross beneath urban areas without open-cut excavation, avoiding traffic disruptions and inconvenience to residents.
